U.S. Postal Cards

U.S. Postal Card collecting offers a rewarding challenge to stamp collectors. The first U.S. postal card issued in 1873 and our stock now extends from the regular issues to commemorative bookles, air mail and official mail postal cards, computer vended postage 'postal buddy' cards, postal reply cards, and occassional treasures from Hawaii and the possessions. All cards in our stock are complete 'entires', while the image may only feature the indicia.
Our 'used' cards are all cancelled, sound cards, used current to the time of issue, and none have additional postage added.

Air Post postal cards were inaugurated with a bold American Bald Eagle in Flight in 1949. The cost of 4-cents per card offered only a penny in savings, but the card format offered the convenience of a pre-printed, pre-paid card for sending a short personal or business messages by air. Favored by travelers and tourists, the USPS soon recognized the value of Air Post Postal Cards to promote tourism in America., often with distinctive cachets and indicia

Postal Reply Cards introduced a new era in use of the mail for business and comminity purposes, providing a pre-paid postal card responce. Our extensive stock of Paid Reply Postal Cards include unsevered mint cards, message cards from the originating sender, and many replu cards representing the postal cards portion returned to originator.

Official Mail Postal Cards represent a unique philatelic group, notable for catalog valuations much higher for postally used cards over the mint cards, Penalty Mail Stamp (PMS) system was a Government program using the Post Office for mail, sent without postage paid, by departments agencies, authorized officers, and Members of Congress. Marked with a statement imposing a fine if used imptoprtly to avoid paying postage (thus Penalty Mail)
