Canada Stamps from Province to Early Dominion #1-230
Scott Catalog begins with the listing of the Province of Canada in 1851. The Dominion came into existence July 1, 1867, assembled from the Provinces of Canada, British Columbia and Vancouver Island, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. Each province had their own stamps, so the new government issued a new series of stamps on April 1, 1868; Scott #21.
